The Challenge
The client needed a replacement switch cover for equipment aboard its vessels. There were no drawings and no CAD files, only a photograph of the existing part.
With vessels operating around the world, the part had to be right and it had to arrive fast.
What we did
✓Reverse-engineered the part from the photograph
✓Built and tested two prototype versions, reaching an approved design within two weeks
✓Manufactured 100 production units with Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) industrial 3D printing, which needs no tooling
✓Shipped the parts directly to vessels worldwide
The outcome
The full order went from photograph to deployed parts in under three weeks, with minimal disruption to the client's offshore operations.
