The Challenge
The first-generation device had proven the idea. The second generation had to be easier to use in the field and ready to manufacture, so the company could build on its early wins.
Rather than redesign straight away, we started with how the device was actually being used.
What we did
Studied field use through user research, workflow analysis and customer feedback
Led industrial, mechanical and electronics design for the new device
Prototyped and tested rapidly to refine interactions and validate key decisions before production
Designed for manufacture, then ran small-batch production, assembly and testing
The outcome
A manufacturable device shaped by real customer feedback and ready for deployment. mēkā still carries out final assembly and early-stage testing in-house as the product evolves.
